The HOPE-fixation technique invented by Dr. Jürgen Olert and further developed in collaboration with Dr. K.H. Wiedorn, Prof. Vollmer and some other researchers has now shown its remarkable impact regarding the enhancement in immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology.
Although the HOPE-fixation technique offers great advantages in comparison to formalin fixation the use of the HOPE-fixation technique has been confined to few research labs because of the lack of an automatic embedding system capable of handling a large probe set simultaneously.
During this workshop the HOPE-fixation technique will be described in detail and downstream applications handling with HOPE fixed tissues (conventional staining with HE and PAS, immunohistochemistry, PCR, lasermicrodissection, tissue microarrays, DNA MicroArray Analysis, Sequencing, K-ras Mutation screening ) will be demonstrated in practical workshops.
Furthermore participants will have the opportunity to use the new hope embedding automat HS-100.
